For the past four months, mourning has become an integral part of the Hindoyan family’s reality. Although, grief and fear are, nothing but, casual and normalized emotions for the residents of Aleppo, yet the process of adaptation to the loss of loved ones is quite tragic.
On September 30, 2016, Aleppo lost thirteen of its innocent citizens – four of them were Armenians and the Hindoyans were among them. Rockets fired from the East rebel-held side of Aleppo caused the death of Mireille Hindoyan, 20, and her brother Arman Hindoyan, 12. The attack took place in, the Villat area, a well-known Armenian neighborhood in Aleppo.
This video comes as an evidence of the brutal occurrence where, Betty, the mother of both Mireille and Arman, retells the tragic scenes of her children’s death, that she has witnessed. RT’s reporter also explores the attack by visiting the Hindoyans’ supermarket, where the shelling took place.
On September 30, 2016, Aleppo did not just lose an innocent soul, it lost a champion and a brave soul. Mireille was a senior student at the State University of Aleppo and a national swimming champion. Mireille’s tragic death was mourned by her colleagues, competitors and friends from all around the world. May your innocent souls rest in peace Arman & Mireille.
