Importance of Sex Education in Schools

Sex is a natural phenomenon and when questions arise among children majority of parents avoids to talk about it. Considering that it is not an appropriate topic and it is shame to talk about it parents reject answering or try to change the topic. An alternative for this issue can be sex education in schools. It is important for children to be taught sex education at their early age. Therefore, sex education in high schools is very necessary for youngsters to acquire information, form attitudes, beliefs, and values about identity, relationships, and intimacy. In this way children will be informed about how people grow, reproduce and change over the years.
In this days, many people possess sexually transmitted infections (STI). The reason for the majority of these diseases is the unawareness about sex. Many people do not know about safe sex and it becomes the reason of lethal diseases such as HIV/AIDS, HPV, Hepatitis, Chancroid, etc. Sex education in schools will give basic information about sex and how to be protected from different dangerous infections. Youngsters are very curious about new things that come up to them especially abstract things such as sex. In order to gain information they use media and this is a real issue because a lot of unethical and misleading stuff can be found there. Thus, I strongly believe that every school must teach sex education for raising children’s awareness and protecting them from possible harms.
