The psychology of sight: what the eyes of the interlocutor will tell you

Nothing gives us out more than our eyes. Constant control over them is impossible, so they tell the truth about us to our interlocutor.


Anatomy of the sight

Pupils are something that a person does not control. Their size decreases when you get bored and increases when you are interested or when you like the person you are talking to. Of course, one must have keen eyesight to follow the changes of the pupils of the interlocutor, but if you master this habit, it will be easier to understand when it is time to change the topic of conversation.

Pupils dilate even with mental effort. But they narrow down when the brain is overloaded, and the person often closes his eyes to limit the flow of information to the brain. If you notice this gesture during an argument, then it’s time to stop, the person has already ceased to understand you.


Direction of the sight

Wandering in the upper left corner of the sight indicates that a person is trying to remember something, to restore the past. But the look in the upper right corner indicates that people are in the creative process.

If people look down, and tries to avoid your sight, it is likely that he is trying to show obedience and harmony with your words. Separately it is worth noting that the subordinates communicate with the boss, slightly throwing back his head, even if they are higher than him.

When a person looks for something with his eyes in the lower left corner, then most likely he speaks to himself. And if he studies the lower right corner, then he is immersed in some emotions and experiences. By the way, studies have shown that the lefties have the opposite. If you notice these signals, you will be able to build communication more efficiently, for example, by showing empathy or figuring out what a person has on his soul.
